ABG Ministries recently began to work with a wonderful team of missionaries in the city of Manokwari, West Papua, Indonesia. Ryan Kennedy with his wife and two daughters, have been spreading the gospel and working with about 250 indigenous churches in this needy area for Christian teaching. He is one of only three missionaries that are serving the Lord by reaching this area for Christ. Ryan’s goal has been to get bibles and biblical resources into the hands of the leaders of these 250 locations. His parents were missionaries with TEAM (The Evangelical Alliance Mission) for over 40 years and paved the way for the work that Ryan is doing now.

Ryan and his family’s personal needs are fully supported by American churches and several Christian families. However, ABG has joined with other organizations including Wycliffe, Gideons, Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, and others to help Ryan’s pursuit to provide bibles and biblical materials.

Ryan told of a recent encounter with several believers who were thirsty for biblical materials. They came asking if he had any more bibles, bible song books, or other materials. Sadly, Ryan had to tell them that he was all out of these materials. ABG’s goal is to continue to support Ryan so that he will have sufficient to hand out to all that are seeking these materials, especially bibles.

In the photo above, Ryan is holding a Hatam Bible, the version they are currently printing to distribute. This is one of the few bibles that have the completed NT and OT texts in the language of the tribes in Papua, Indonesia. Ryan’s “uncle”, Richard Griffiths, translated the NT in the field, and in his retirement continued to translate the OT. Ryan has told us that he is very excited to print more of these bibles that the Word of God can spread. It’s ABG’s goal, by God’s provision and grace, that we can continue to support this ministry in Indonesia.
