Pastor Samoel leads the Corupá Baptist Church, a growing congregation in the city of Corupá, Brazil. The church recently faced challenging circumstances. Their church building, built more than 60 years ago was in need of multiple repairs. The wooden roof had been eaten by termites, the walls were leaking and cracked in various places and the floor was loose and unstable.

It is very difficult for churches like Pastor Samoel’s church to find resources to rebuild their churches. But, three years ago, he began to trust the Lord to help rebuild his church so that his congregation would have a safe place to worship and to hear the preaching of the Word of God. Through amazing circumstances directed by the Lord, ABG was connected to this church by a Cuban sister who had recently moved there.

ABG began to look for ways to support Pastor Samoel and the construction project began to gain momentum. The rebuilding of the church has been a testimony to those who live in this city and more people are attending worship services at this church. Since early in 2024, the windows and doors have been installed with the walls and roof reconstructed.

Although much progress has been made, there is still much reconstruction that must take place. A portion of the church, like the room above, has been rebuilt, but ABG intends to continue to support Pastor Samoel to build his church and also in the future, to supply bibles and sound biblical materials.
